Allpack have recently won the packaging contract for all of the FPS regional distribution centres. The leading automotive wholesaler and distributor operates through a national network of 23 sites, including its national distribution centre in Sheffield.
Allpack carried out a complete review of the FPS fulfilment process, using our Process Intelligence Programme, which takes an immersive deep dive into seven key areas.
A comprehensive analysis was conducted and resulted in several proposed major changes in the way FPS managed its fulfilment and pick-and-pack operation. FPS agreed with the Process Intelligence Programme’s recommendations and commissioned Allpack to implement the new design and packing structure.
These changes resulted in a major improvement in workflow, giving 15% increased output, a 10% reduction in packaging material costs and a 25% reduction in packaging wastage.
In addition, a significant percentage of existing packaging material was switched to a plastic-free or recycled alternative, putting FPS at the forefront of environmental care without sacrificing a great unboxing experience for their customers. The plastic-free packaging introduced also means that FPS are ready for the upcoming UK Plastic Tax in April 2022.
